Home is where the heart is … or the hatred.

You can feel the love and care someone puts into their home just by walking into it. Equally, you can feel the hatred and malice when you step into a home where dark deeds have been done.

Alex and his team of so-called paranormal investigators are given the opportunity of a lifetime when they are able to film inside one of the most haunted, and cursed, locations in their area.

The Jackson Mansion.

The thing that makes this mansion truly unique is that it is built completely underground. Determined to uncover the dark secrets of the mansion’s past, and prove himself a notable investigator, Alex doesn’t care what it takes. The mansion, however, has other ideas, as well as some rather restless occupants.

I’m not entirely sure I have the words to do this book the justice it deserves. I’ve been left utterly speechless!

Buried takes us into the heart of the Jackson Mansion. It follows Alex and his team of Paranormal Investigators as they are finally allowed access to film inside the mansion. The aim of Alex and his team is to spend time in the mansion and disprove all of the horrific scandals that this mansion is surrounded by. I think Alex and the team got a lot more than they ever bargained for!

This is a book packed with horrific, creepy and twisted acts that will have your jaw hitting the floor in shock!

Buried is an exceptional piece of writing, that will have you completely in awe of just how twisted and depraved it is. This author has such a way with words, you will have little or no choice in seeing the things that Sian describes in your own mind.

Buried grabbed a hold of my attention from the very beginning, the more I read the more I became engrossed in the twisted tales of the Jackson Mansion!

Buried really is an exceptional piece of fiction writing and is worthy of so much more than 5 Stars. Sian you are one twisted lady, please don’t ever change.

Asylum 1 by Sian B Claven

✫.•° Blurb °•.✫

Hans is a brilliant doctor, sent to an Asylum in the middle of nowhere to continue his post-world war experiments on the insane.

Karen is a bubbly nurse whose sole intention in the world is to do good and help those that cannot help themselves.

Good intentions cross into power hungry mania in this horrific tale of how all their failed experiments come back to haunt them, and how the Asylum holds its own secrets.

“Asylum makes your hair stand on end. This is creepy and dark, yet incredibly fascinating. To delve into the mind of the ‘scientist’ at this asylum is to find sheer madness roiling in those depths, as well as utter self-delusion. The very stones of this madhouse is drenched with horror … a clever and twisted MUST read!” Elaina J. Davidson.

✫.•° My Review °•.✫

This is the first book by this author that I’ve read. The question I have now is why? I’ve known that Sian is an author for a while but for some unknown reason I’ve never read one of her books until now. I’ll definitely be going back and reading more!

Asylum I is a freaky, psychological, creepy and dark read! It’s written in a diary form, so it’s clear to see the timeline of events that happened. And what a string of events they are! I’m not going to discuss them for fear of spoiling the surprise for those of you that are yet to read this.

Sian’s writing style grabbed my attention from the beginning and pulled me further and further into the world that she created. Sian’s writing is clear and informative, giving you the details needed to picture each and every scene in your mind, so clearly that you can believe it’s real and you’re there!

The characters are cleverly thought out. Hans is… um… what’s the word I want… oh yeah… crazy, a madman, I suppose it’s a mad scientist/doctor. Sian has created Hans as the doctor who wants to cure the insane. Personally, I think he’s as crazy as his patients! His methods are… different! Hans plays his roll extremely well.

Overall, I loved this book, the plot, the characters, everything! The creepy, disturbing darkness of it appealed and called to the darkness within me, so much so I’ve pre-ordered Asylum II!

✫.•° About The Author °•.✫

Hailing from Johannesburg South Africa, Sian B. Claven has enjoyed stories for all her life, whether she was reading them or making them. She has written for as long as she can remember, but Ensnared is the first book she decided to publish. Moving towards writing more for the horror / paranormal thriller genre, Sian has subsequently published the first two books in The Butcher Books series, Tatum and Kallista. When Sian isn’t thinking of ways to terrify people, she enjoys writing science fiction stories, poetry and rather long and gushy birthday wishes. When she isn’t working on her writing you can find her knitting, scrapbooking, reading, or playing Xbox. Sian previously reviewed for The Blithering Bibliomaniacs and still reviews in her private capacity. She clearly doesn’t know what the words rest and relaxation mean, at least not in the traditional sense.
