With the help of her best friend Amanda, Kirsty discovers that the mark originates from The Devil’s Bible and forges a connection between her and a terrifying entity. As they track the man who assaulted her to a satanic cult, the presence hunts them from the shadows. Can Kirsty escape the devil worshippers and her bond with the heinous demon to save herself from eternal damnation?
The Mark is a terrifying standalone horror novel. If you like mysterious depraved forces, tales of the occult, and stories that will have you looking under the bed, then you’ll love Lee Mountford’s gripping tale!
This is my review of The Mark Audiobook. This is also the first of Lee Mountford’s work that I’ve ever read/listened to. It certainly won’t be the last!!
The Mark is a fast-paced, suspenseful horror story. L. Mountford has written The Mark in such a way that it gets you thinking as you read, it makes you pause and reflect from time to time, or at least pause and look over your shoulder. I did this more than once!!
The Mark is a creepy and unsettling read, one of the best I’ve encountered for a while. That said for me I think the book/eBook would have been better for me, why? Because I don’t feel that the narrator does the book the justice it deserves, more annoyingly I can’t quite put my finger on why I feel like this. To me, it just felt off.
But don’t let that put you off if you fancy the book. I intend to get myself a copy of the book; either in eBook or paperback; and read it myself, after I’ve read some of Lee Mountford’s other work.
The actual writing of The Mark is really good. It’s easy to see that Lee has put in effort, research, thought and emotion whilst writing this. His characters have a good level of depth and are realistic.
It’s easy to become totally immersed in the world that Lee Mountford has created, and his words grab your attention and hold you there in the thick of the plot until the very end.
Overall this is a great creepy, check over your shoulder horror book. I’m looking forward to discovering more of Lee Mountford’s work!

Lee Mountford is a horror author from the North-East of England. His first book, Horror in the Woods, was published in May 2017 to fantastic reviews, and his follow-up book, The Demonic, achieved Best Seller status in both Occult Horror and British Horror categories on Amazon.
He is a lifelong horror fan, much to the dismay of his amazing wife, Michelle, and his work is available in ebook, print and audiobook formats.
In August 2017 he and his wife welcomed their beautiful daughter, Ella, into the world. Michelle is hoping she doesn’t inherit her father’s love of horror, but Lee has other ideas…
Have a destination wedding, they said. The mountains are so romantic, they said. They’ve obviously never been a runaway bride.
Olivia Love has it all. She’s rich, spoiled, and about to marry the man of her dreams—until she witnesses her fiancée with someone else, sending her on a little run. Down the side of a mountain. In her wedding dress.
When she finds a cabin in the woods, her relief is short-lived at discovering it to be empty. No phone, no heat, and no way back to her perfect little life. That is until a gun-toting mountain man fills the space and sends her heart rate skyrocketing.
Carter Fitzwilliam likes the simple things in life. His sheep farm, his privacy, and man’s best friend are all he needs until a smart-mouthed beauty in a white dress breaks into his cabin and threatens to complicate the hell out of everything.
She’s lost, looking for help. He’s hiding, only wanting to be left alone. Will she be the one person his heart needs to find?
If you like outrageously funny characters, sexy heroes, and a juicy opposites-attract story than you’ll love the first book in the Lost & Found series, Cabin Fever is the first standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy book in the Lost & Found series by Elizabeth Lynx.
As the synopsis states Olivia Love has chosen to do a runner. And what a day to do it on, her wedding day!! But considering what she has seen could you blame her? I know I can’t!
For Olivia, the biggest downside is that she has to run down a mountain! When Olivia finds a cabin that she thinks is empty she feels relief. That relief is short-lived when she realises there’s no phone, no heating, nothing! And then a gun-toting man turns up, making her feel even more uneasy!
Carter lives in his cabin on his own and enjoys his simple life as a sheep farmer. He doesn’t want anyone else in his life except his dog and his sheep. So when he returns home to find Olivia in his cabin, he’s not sure what to think, except to get rid of her one way or another.
Cabin Fever is a witty, funny, sarcastic romantic story of an accidental meeting of two individuals. It’s not an insta-love story, these two have their own demons to overcome and they need to learn to trust before they can accept any kind of love that is offered.
The pieces of Cabin Fever begin to come together a little like a jigsaw puzzle, as they begin to slot into place it makes the desire to know more becomes stronger, making you want to read just one more chapter… then another and another
The characters are deceptive in that they appear to be so alike, but yet they so different.
I think that Elizabeth has got the mix of romance, wit, sarcasm, and humour spot on. She also includes a few twists and turns to keep the readers on their toes and to keep them guessing at what might happen next.
I couldn’t stop reading this book. I can’t wait for the next installment in the Lost and Found Series.

The Takers is a brutal, action packed thriller that will delight fans of Lee Child, Mark Dawson, Vince Flynn and Rob Sinclair.
This is the second book in the Sam Pope series, and it continues in an epic way.
Sam continues with his one-man fight against the organised crime in London. The problem is whilst he is hunting the organised criminals the police are hunting him.
Whilst Sam is taking down another organised gang a desperate father walks in looking for his daughter. Sam agrees to help him find his daughter.
The hunt for the missing girl put Sam right in front of the task force who are hunting him and right in the middle of some of the most dangerous criminals in the country.
I have loved reading more of Sam Pope’s adventures The Takers is an action-packed thriller that had me glued to every page! I was hooked from the very beginning. I was glad to be back alongside Sam.
It’s clear from reading The Takers that Rob has spent a lot of time and energy researching, planning and writing this novel. Rob’s writing style fits this book so well. Rob feeds his readers everything that is needed to piece together the events and to feel a part of this story, it’s almost like following a breadcrumb trail.

I am a thirty-year-old man child with aspirations of writing bizarre stories for a living!
Writing is my life and since I can remember it is something I have naturally done, be it silly stories at school or role-playing games during my teens. I was about 16/17 when I designed my first comic book series and since then have swung from idea to idea.
Then in March 2015, I released ONE BY ONE with the sole intention of getting one five star review. It far exceeded that and since then I have written DOORWAYS, which was signed up by Urbane Publications in September 2015 and released in October 2016. Again, the response has been overwhelming.
I saw my books hit the Waterstones charts but the end goal soon changed. I have since reclaimed the rights to Doorways and am now taking the Bermuda Jones series down the Self-Publishing route. It’s an exciting time.
I dream up rugged anti-heroes or crazy worlds on a fairly regular basis and I have promised myself they will all be committed to the written word. Believe me!
As always, you readers are more important than you know and I hope you will continue to read and enjoy. Also, make sure you sign up to the Reader Group!
He came to fix her pipes. She never expected him to steal her heart.

The pipe burst in her basement, so she had to put the baking on hold to find a plumber, fast. When the sexy guy from around the corner showed up to fix her leak, all she could do was stare at the size of his wrench.
Max Brighton was a single dad, business owner, and hadn’t dated in years. His plumbing business began to struggle, and he became desperate to keep things afloat. He believed he found the perfect solution for his problems when the beautiful woman in his neighborhood asked him to fix her pipes. But the job was harder than he expected and he wasn’t talking about her pipes.
We meet Heidi, the daughter of two senators. Heidi is genuine, honest and sometimes naive. She’s not that naive when it comes to her parents though; she knows that they manipulate her to get what they want.
Heidi lives on her own and when her house springs a leak, she calls her parents, they tell her they’ll get someone out to sort it and they do. Max.
Max is a plumber, he goes to Heidi’s to fix her pipes, but soon discovers that her pipes are worse than he originally thought. Once Max realises who Heidi is, he tries to orchestrate a way to not be the one doing the work.
Dirty Secret is a funny, witty, sarcastic, sweet and steamy read.
The characters are well thought out and they all fit the story perfectly. Each one shows both their good and bad traits, which makes each of them realistic and more endearing.
I love how Elizabeth manages to write such emotional but light-hearted stories, that always grab your attention and pull you in from the very beginning. Each page I turned I fell further into Heidi and Max’s world. Elizabeth’s writing style made me feel every bit of part of their lives as the other characters are.
If you want a fun, flirty and entertaining read then I highly recommend Dirty Secret.

I came to Sin City with my best friend to celebrate my much-needed divorce. For once, I want to be the one with no care about tomorrow.
That’s when he catches my eye. I watch as he works the room and the women in it. He’s everything I hate in a man, but the epitome of what we all want. Sexy, confident to a fault, and a smirk that will melt your panties.
He’s everything my ex-husband is.
As our eyes meet, I decide to give him a dose of his own medicine and show him how it feels to be used. Tonight, I’ll be the woman everyone stares at when she enters the room. The one I am in the boardroom who takes no prisoners.
I’ll be the one to bring him to his knees and leave him just as fast.

This is the first book by AJ Love that I’ve read, and it won’t be the last.
This is a romantic comedy set in and around college.
Blakes decision to go for accommodation provided by the college starts off as a bit of a disaster, when the accommodation office assigns her accommodation with five guys. That’s right Blake is a female! The accommodation office didn’t realise this and placed her with Five Guys.
After realization she’s stuck there, she tries to make the best of a bad situation. Blake soon realises that one of her roommates is her usual type of guy, she also knows that she can’t go there. If she did and it went wrong life would become awkward, very awkward.
This Ain’t Love is an ingenious mix of fun, realism, attraction, temptation and a whole heap of denial! The book is packed with laugh out loud moments, that had me giggling to myself and had other people giving me odd stares in the canteen at work!
The characters are easy to relate to and very realistic, they interact well together and they each bring their own dynamic to the overall story. Blake and Cameron’s chemistry is palpable, they seem to rub each other the wrong way but at the same time they compliment each other’s personalities too.
The story sucked me in quickly and held me there right alongside Blake and Cameron until the very end. I was made to feel every bit a part of their story. I’m glad I’ve had the chance to meet Blake and Cameron.
This Ain’t Love is a great way to start this series. I’m looking forward to the next instalment.
If you’re looking for a funny, hot, sweet romantic comedy then I highly recommend This Ain’t Love.

AJ Love has been writing since she was a little girl, never leaving the house without a notebook. As a corporate stooge and single mother, she spends all of her free time reading, writing and drinking too much coffee (wine). AJ has a strong passion for the literary world and before writing her book, spent all of her time reviewing others. She also enjoys talking with all that read her book(s), her philosophy being that readers and authors are all part of the same world – a world where they are all enthusiastic about words.
I was fortunate enough to meet Tony at an author signing in Peterborough, where I purchased a signed paperback copy of Unsilent Grief.
Unsilent Grief is Tony’s first book and I feel that it shows potential. The storyline has clearly been thought through. The events flow well from one to the next. Tony includes enough details to allow the reader to be able to imagine clearly the events as they happen and to feel a part of them as they happen.
The characters are good, they work well together and interact well. Each one has their own traits and personalities which help to make them more multi-dimensional and realistic.
Tony’s overall writing style is good. It shows the potential to be really good as his work continues and he gains more confidence and experience. As I was reading the book, I did notice some mistakes with spelling and punctuation, nothing that would detract from the overall book but something that I feel could be polished out with a good proof-reader.
I enjoyed reading Unsilent Grief and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this author.
